The Graduate

J and I spent a long weekend in Washington with family. The first big event to celebrate: Sbug's graduation! Sbug is the youngest sibling, but the first of us to get a degree-- in Sustainable Engineering no less! We're all super proud of him and his gorgeous family {he became a dad just a week ago!}

After being in triple digit weather, sitting in the grass under partly cloudy skies during all the commencement speeches felt lovely. {Those strange expressions? Due entirely to our amazement over reading the Geoducks Fight Song}

And graduation offerd the perfect excuse to party! My mom put on an awesome luau in their backyard.

Hawaiian smoked pork, flavorful rice, sweet potato fries, lots of fruit and exotic drinks. It was delicious.

Then we sat around the fire pit {that Dad and J built} and talked until it got too cold. It was the perfect start to a fabulous, fun-packed weekend.
