Today, Little Miss C is 8 years old. We had an old fashioned, backyard carnival for her on Saturday. Corn dogs, cracker jacks, balloon twisting, donuts on a string, a clothespin drop, a fishing pond... you get the idea.
We were on quite a strict budget, but were quite pleased with how it turned out. It appears that a lot can be done with a stack of colored cardstock and some imagination. Not to mention a really, really big red balloon. {after filling it with helium, we worried we wouldn't be able to fit it through the door!}
It was great fun. J made an amazing video of the day. I love the way he captured the energy and color. I just wish she weren't growing up so fast...
And to top it all off, Daisy laid her first egg!

Little Miss C proclaimed that even the hens knew enough to give her a present. :) Happy Birthday, Little Miss!

Hi,
I am so happy I found your sweet and funny blog, using the NEXT BLOG, button! woohoo!
I am following you now, you are fun to read!
Have a great day!
Rosey.
VERY cute!!!! Great ideas!
ps...I wanna see her room! :)
pps...I played the "Bed" video for the kids I nanny last week...they loved it!
As predicted: DARLING PARTY! May have to steal that idea, with proper credit, of course. And the video rocked!
Now the question everyone wants answered - how many non-RSVPers showed up? (wink.)
That Jared is pretty talented. So is the person who came up with the whimsical party concept and executed it to perfection. Wowie!
what a great video! what a great way to capture the memories and what a stellar party....you were on a budget? Good job mom.
The video is beautiful, as always, but it made my belly hurt. If your daughter turned 8...that means in two short months my baby turns 8. Were we not JUST pregnant together?
AWESOME video!
