Halloween 2008

We took a vote in September on what we should be for Halloween- Little Miss C was insistent that we be The Incredibles, since "we're a five family now!"

I must admit, L made an adorable little Jack-Jack.

This was the most sewing I've ever had to do for Halloween. I still have a lot of red spandex left over. Maybe next year we'll all be life guards....

Action pose! Except for E, who just wanted to get out there and collect some candy already. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm enjoying all of this while I can. Someday they'll be embarrassed to be seen with me, let alone in red spandex. These are the days, people. :)

I LOVE THIS! This is probably my favorite family ensemble ever. Your kids are all in the right order. Perfect. So awesome.

This is SO fantastic. We don't have kids yet but you'd better believe I'd be stealing this idea if we did! You are ROCKING those thigh-high "boots"!

Are you trying to make the rest of us look bad? I've obviously got to add "sewing awesome hallowe'en costumes" to my list of things to learn.

You look great!

1. You guys look amazing!
2. I had no idea you were such a seamstress. Where'd you learn?
3.You definitely look very thin! I'd never know you've had 3 kids. Eat some of that Halloween candy. :)
4.Your family is GORGEOUS, and wow, you know how to have fun!

Your blog popped up in my Google Reader, and I starting reading...and kept on reading. Very witty and fun, while managing to be simultaneously honest and inspirational--which, I think, is often quite the task. You have a beautiful written voice, and I admire you for your openness about your struggles with depression. I think all too often it goes unvoiced in LDS culture.

I have loved looking at your history of Halloween costumes -- all of them made me smile and wish I had a family who would like to do that. You are very talented to put those costumes together!

How do you do it:)? I can't believe you sewed those things! Joseph is so busy and his family never gets much into holidays so I've used it as an excuse to throw princess outfits and pumpkin sweats on the kids last minute:). Andrew and Lizzy always go all out but they don't have a girl yet so this wouldn't work as well:). Wish we were closer to do some trick or treating together! I've eaten about half of Elle's chocolate already, the real reason for the season, eh! If I think of a need for red spandex, I'll let you know:).

ps - that was pretty daring in the spandex, Joseph would have pretty much protested but you guys look great!
