J sent me this and now I totally want chickens. I wonder if they'd eat my gardens? I'll have to look into constructing a chicken wire fence around them...
I've been wanting chickens, too! Just a block down the road and neighbor has three and it's so cute! Besides, I am so sick of watered down, thin shelled eggs. I remember when my mom raised chickens the eggs were so hard sometimes we had trouble cracking them. That never happens with storebought eggs, not even the cage free organics.
However ... I don't know if I can commit... I like my getawayatthedropofahat life...
yeah buddy. s-bug and i talk about this all the time. when we aren't renting we will do this. however, i watched this video and wondered...did she really have to stand right in front of the projector? (presentation skills 101)
My two sisters-in-law keep chickens. One's in the country, the other in the city. It does require some work, but they love the delicious eggs and they are beautiful to photograph.
This made me chuckle (for a GOOD reason)... I was just telling my husband how I wish we could have chickens. We live in the middle of concrete jungle suburbia... and our homeowners association would probably have a fit if we tried! Maybe I'm not so crazy after all...? :)

This is hilarious to me, because when I was a little tyke, I used to raise chickens, pigs and calves. We also had our own garden and fruit trees.
Hmmmm----isn't it interesting how things keep coming back around?
