I find myself continually dwelling on the Tangled Alphabets exhibit I saw in the MoMA during our trip. Sometimes art is intimidating, sometimes just pretty, and sometimes it is truly inspiring. Tangled Alphabets was the latter. I walked away with fingers itching to create.
The installation pictured above was one of my favorites, though an image does it no justice. Thousands of nylon threads hung from the ceiling, shimmering and drifting on the slightest breeze, like spiderwebs. Nearby, a plague displayed this scripture: And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind, and earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: and after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire, a still small voice.

It sends lovely shivers down my spine-an "inspiring" exhibit has an installation on the Spirit. A picture is worth a thousand words.
