In God's Country

The sky makes me feel so small. Especially here, where it seems to stretch on forever, uninterrupted by volcanic ranges. When I was a kid, I used to try to imagine the vastness of space. No beginning, no end. It would make me dizzy and a little frightened, like standing on the precipice of a cliff and peering over the edge. Watching the stars rotate in the sky has the same affect on me. I kind of like it.

Awesome. (literally)

I remember being in Death Valley for the first time years ago and being stunned silent by the sky.

As I was figuring out how to word my comment I noticed that my verification word for this comment is laterpop and that my verification word often can be related to your prego condition. It makes me smirk a little. anyways, I really love the desert at night, it's the best.

So beautiful! There's some perspective. I remember not really believing that space goes on forever. It has to be in a circle, because THAT I can imagine. But if not then it HAS to have a beginning and an end. So weird. One day we'll get it.
