..... from a 9 year old?" J texted, along with this photo. I had just purchased Little Miss C a new pair of shoes. Pink and sparkly. Yep, the very same shoes she wore to go wading across rivers with her daddy, not even 24 hours after bringing them home.

Brown and pink are a pretty combo, n'est ce pas?
When I was about Miss C's age I talked my mother into buying me the prettiest pair of pink ballet slip on shoes. On the day of purchase I proceeded to wear them on a visit to my Uncle and Aunts farm. I stepped in things in the farm yard that forever changed those sweet shoes. I felt really so sad that I had ruined them, especially when I had been cautioned not to wear them on the visit. At least Miss C's shoes are sneakers and she was wearing them appropriately on an outing with her dad.
