A Break in Stride
I injured my foot last week while running and have had to take a break. I was able to see a podiatrist yesterday, and learned that I am wearing the wrong kind of running shoes-- dang, I just bought them! Apparently, I pronate quite a bit and need a lot of support. I've developed some tendon problems that should resolve themselves with time, so I purchased some sole inserts from him and will shop for shoes soon. In the meantime, I'll be trying to stick with the training while using lots of ice and maybe a painkiller or two. After a week off, and a lot of BBQ food from the long weekend, I have a feeling that this week of resuming my workouts will pretty much suck. (image via)

So sorry to hear that. Funny, I just e-mailed you about buying running shoes! (the ones I'm using now are crappy and really make my feet hurt) Maybe I should see a podiatrist about it too? :)
darn! i hope it gets better soon! how do you know what kind of running shoes you need to wear? i can't afford a doctor...so i don't know what kind of stuff i need to be doing to get better...rawr!
