Peaches

Last weekend, we attended the peach festival for the fourth strait year. As always, it was wonderful. We picked three flats of peaches, took the kids on a hayride and a train ride, then indulged in peach ice cream, peach cinnamon rolls, and fresh peaches and whipped cream on waffles. I spent the majority of today canning halved peaches and making peach jam. I was pleased to find out that not only do peaches taste like sunshine, they also look like bottled rays of sunlight when lined up on the counter in mason jars. I am tired but satisfied.

YUM! I love peaches! I am convinced that the fruit on the Tree of Life was peaches (white ones), because how could there be any more delicious fruit? I grew up on home canned peaches and I love them dearly. We came home from church every single Sunday and ate canned peaches and toast. Mmmmm. Peaches and toast.

You're so awesome canning and jamming your own fruit. Look at you.

Oh, fresh peaches. What a wonderful tradition--and canning all those beauties? Heaven year round!

YUM! Is the festival over? I'd love to go! Don't you love the sense of accomplishment you get after canning? And it tastes so much better too! Thanks for inspiring me on the strawberry jam!
