Then I purchased a cheap cardigan at Target and embellished away. To be honest, I'm not as happy with the results of the cardigan, though it was fun to do.
I think it'd be more flattering if it hit at the waist, had three-quarter sleeves and the embellishments wandered across the bust instead of looking like a beauty queen sash.
Speaking of embellished cardigans, I want to try this tutorial next {found via Liz}. So there you have it. 24 hours of sewing, ironing and pasting, and this is the outfit I ended up with. Makes you really respect those Project Runway contestants and their amazing results, doesn't it?

I just bought two of those cardigans at Target and had the same thought..They are two long. I am going to take one back. I got the slate blue and the mustard yellow and I was thrilled with the color and the price, but I think I will have to spend more money at Ann Taylor to get what I really want. Fit is important.
I think they look great!
Looks great! Did you follow a pattern for the skirt? If so, could you please let me know the brand and pattern number. I'd love to make one for myself too. Thanks!
Lauren- sorry, I didn't follow a pattern. Just kind of made it up as I went along. I'm real technical like that. Ha!
Well, that's a bummer for me but great for you. You must have some mad sewing skills. Nice work!
Sometimes you're in and sometimes you're out.
Ms. Smile, you're definitely "in."
nice work though! that is impressive what you did in that time. and a skirt? you MADE a skirt, that's pretty sweet
Tres Chic!
I really like that skirt, it turned out great.
Just when do you have time for all of these talented projects?? You never cease to amaze me. Painting, sewing, what's next? :)
