So, no elaborate costumes this time. {Too bad-- I was thinking cirque du soleil performers would have been a great way to use up all that spandex left over from last year.} Instead, we attended a trunk-or-treat event on short notice over the weekend. I was the Wicked Witch of the West {again} and L was my flying monkey. I called him monkey face and had to restrain myself from kissing his cheeks every time he walked by.
I set up a scarecrow in the trunk and a pair of striped stockings wearing ruby slippers peeked out from under the car. It was fun.
But I still can't wait until next year.

Oh,darn! Your Halloween costumes are already the stuff of legends in our house. I giggle every time I think of the fast food icons. Thanks for letting us see you in your wicked get up. That monkey is just too cute.
Owl costume forthcoming . . .
What??? Are you serious? OK I get that not everyone in Mormon-dom agrees with Halloween and celebrating a holiday most definitely associated with darker forces, BUT for the kids? C'mon. Dressing up and trick or treating? I can imagine there are going to be a lot of parents missing that conference to take their cute little gobblins out for the one-night-a-year festivities.
And that's still a great costume for just having it on hand...
Bummer for us. Your Halloween costumes totally blow me away. But your Trunk or Treat idea will have to tie us over until next year. Enjoy Conference!
Oh I'm so sad! We're always excited to see what you creatively come up with! Will you be joining the fam after conference?
You are one steamin' Elphaba! And, wickely talented! I always enjoy looking in on you and your fam!
BOO, BOO, BOO hoo, crying cause I love your costumes. I know that next year your get ups will be spooktacular....legs, socks ruby slippers under the car....ah, ha, ha, ha, ha! Love it.
You made the right choice.
You look truly frightening in that first picture! Yikes. :)
I love how you distinguish your options. Probably the gods will smile on you for your choice. :)
