That explains the queasiness....

So.

I'm pregnant.

Firstly, I'm really excited to have another child join our family, especially now that our youngest has grown so big that I can hardly get away with calling him a baby anymore.

But pregnancy has never been my favorite thing. :)

In fact, I started this blog more than two years ago because I was pregnant, off medication, and trying desperately to stay sane. So a large part of my sharing this news now is so I'll have an outlet to complain share my struggles and focus on the positive.

I'm about 3 months along right now, and due August 3rd. After a lot of thought and prayer, I've decided to stay on depression meds for the time being. It isn't ideal, but I feel it gives me the best chance at staying healthy and functional during a time that has been dark and debilitating for me in the past.

Lastly, I've had a dream about the baby and I'm pretty sure it's a boy.

Any ideas for names?

Coming out of the blogging closet to say CONGRATULATIONS! I'm expecting my first, a boy, in May, so I'm partial to the boy club right now. But two boys and two girls would sure be sweet...

Aaaaaaak!! I haven't read blogs for weeks and just decided to get on for a second and what do I find!?! WOW! Congratulations! When I read that you weren't feeling well before I suspected this might be your reason. I'm so happy for you. And I really hope you are pleasantly surprised with this pregnancy. I've always handled pregnancy pretty well until this one, so maybe you'll be the opposite (the others were hard and this one will be easy).

And is it just me or are we both doing girl, boy, boy, boy? :) (because of course you'll be right about this one. :)

I COMPLETELY respect your decision to stay on medication and I really hope it makes things significantly better for you. Really, really.

Such happy news to greet me on a rainy, glum Monday morning! I hope only the best for your pregnancy and state of mind . . . and I think the name Simon would be brilliant.

Hey hey! Look at us...two pregos. We're due pretty close together. I would give you some boy name suggestions but I might be needing them myself.

Congrats and good luck.

For what it's worth, I'm kinda nervous/anxious about the whole thing myself. After my daughter was born I definitely went through some sort of PPD and well I'm not looking forward to doing that again. Hopefully it's better this time, but one never knows.

Happy news on a rainy day. Congrats Mama Melancholy, you brought a smile to my face. I'm praying that you will get through the next several months with a minimal amount of difficult days.

I pretty much like traditional names.

Wonderful news and I feel so sympathetic about the medication... You're making the right choice to stay on it as long as you're able! A happy mommy is a healthy mommy, right?

First, CONGRATS!

Second, I'm going back on my meds today's because I just can't seem to do it on my own. This is my 10th year of meds and I thought I'd try. No such luck. My husband and I just finished talking about our futuree children and our options for pregnancy & medication. I was reading my google reader list and saw this and I finally felt a little better about it all. I love all those happy go lucky people...I like having you to relate to though - and learn from.

Congrats!!!!! I'm very happy for you and I live that little hat!

Hmmmm. I'm all about the name Henry ;)

Congratulations! I have 3 boys and a girl, too. Boys are SO much fun! (Especially now as teens. I love them so much.) I hope you have a smooth pregnancy this time around. Names? Hmmm. I like the traditional stuff. (Troy, Patrick, Jacob...but we chose the last one before it went off the popularity charts.) Have fun choosing!

Mick or Tweed or Rainbow. No, please not the ewok hat. Cute on girls, not so manly on boys.

I was going to say something about you maybe being pregnant at church when you said you still felt queasy, but I thought I better not. Congrats I hope this pregnancy is a great one-please if you need anything give me a call. Jaxon and Kenli would love to have your kids over to play if you just need some alone time.

Yours was one amongst the first blogs I followed when first getting started. I'm as pleased as punch for you as if I knew you "in real life".

My favourite boy name is Jack, and since I won't be having another child you're welcome to use it. ;)

My warmest hopes and good wishes and prayers for a smooth pregnancy and even smoother delivery, and good health mentally and physically for you.

My sister called last night and informed me that you were pregnant. Thought it was funny she knew before me b/c of the blog :) Congrats! So happy to have another baby joining the family - it's been too long! And how fun will that be for you and Lu to have them so close together. Can't wait!

Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you and your family.

I'm pretty sure that I've commented before, but I know that I don't do it nearly as often as I should. I just wanted to say once again how much I love your blog, and how much I appreciate your honesty. I love that you're not afraid to talk about your struggles. I admire you very much. I'm just beginning to come to terms with the depression that I've dealt with in my own life, and people like you make it a lot easier for me to open up about it. Thank you for that.
