A Lake in the Desert

Jared was eager to test out the new camera yesterday, and after a bit of editing, this is the result. I'm quite impressed. {and a little surprised at how sentimental I get while watching it-- when was it that this Seattle girl became so enamored with the desert?}

So, we used semi gloss latex paint, ultra pura white from Behr. I love me some Behr paint.
We sanded them down, to scuff them up and take off the shiny finish.
Then we primed with oil based.
Then we painted. We used a mini roller as much as possible, with resulted in a streak free finish. Those mini rollers are amazing.
We also put little rubber stoppies on the drawers and doors, so that they wouldn't stick to the box and then rip off the paint. So far, everything's holding up really well!

The sand is grainy. The water is shimmery. The light is dappling. X marks the spot. Treasure.

I can only wish for such creative vision and talent. Ok, sometimes I actually try to do something creative, but that generally leads to others wishing that I didn't....
