Scent of Summer

It's been a few years since my last bottle of Clinique Happy Heart ran out. Last week as I was flipping through a magazine, I came across a perfume ad and ended up rubbing the little paper sample over my wrists and neck. For the rest of the day, I'd catch a whiff as I went about my errands, and was surprised at how much it cheered me. So yesterday, I took a trip to Sephora and bought a bottle of Guerlain Aqua Allegoria in Mandarine-Basilic. It's light and citrus-y and perfectly versatile. Plus, the bottle is pretty and makes me think of Pushing Daisies.

I also bought a bottle of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. It was the sample I had rubbed all over my wrists the week before, and I liked it quite a bit. Fresh, but with more of a marine scent than a citrus one.

While in Sephora, I tried
Prada Infusion d'Iris, a lightly floral mix with citrus undertones. I'm saving up to buy this one next, since I think it makes a perfect evening scent. I wore it all day yesterday and it reminded me of the heavy jasmine-orange blossom scent that permeates my backyard during summer evenings.

And Fresh Sugar Lemon for something simple and everyday. So, lesson of the day: sometimes a splash of scent is all it takes to feel pretty.

I need a perfume consultant to help me navigate those waters. Sounds like you have a second "sents" about such things!
