Re-fashionista

Little Miss C grows so fast. She's already tall enough to warrant buying a brand new wardrobe, but unfortunately we don't have the funds for that. Instead, I've spent the last few days taking my maternity clothes {which by this point, I loathe and never want to see again} and refashioning them into skirts and dresses for my Little Miss.

{a small sampling of the dreaded maternity wear}

I was nervous to sew anything outside of my comfort zone {pillows, drapes, and Halloween costumes} but luckily they seemed to turn out all right and she actually wears them. I'm still putting the finishing touches on two more dresses, but so far I've rescued a stained t-shirt {love the big, ruffly flower!} made a skirt, and sewed an entire dress. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself. :)

PS- The dye from Halloween is almost all washed out of Little Miss C's hair, but I still think she makes a pretty cute redhead. :)

I did the same thing for Hannie - but nothing so daring as a dress! I just cut some skirts down and added new elastic. She still loves them. And I love your daughter with red hair. How fun - and how COMMITTED are you to Halloween costumes! :)

these are awesome! it is different when you start sewing for someone else isn't it? You did an awesome job though, I am way impressed that you can do this with 4 kids! I feel like I am barely handling 2.5!

What fabulous re-purposing Melancholy; your little fashionista looks tre chic in her new ensembles. I would call this "Green" chic as the only labor required was yours and the materials were recycled. It helps that you're also extremely talented and creative.
