Tasty Clothes

Last week was a doozy. We had Grandpa's funeral {which was emotional and wonderful all at the same time}, a trip to urgent care for Baby R to get stitches {poor boy!} and E turned 7 years old, all as I balanced on the precipice of depression. While I do have thoughts and personal struggles I want to record at some point, for now I feel that some lightness is in order. Thus, I start the week off talking about clothes. :)

This is my new favorite outfit. Not only because I finally {!!} fit into the pencil skirt, but because the blush colored silk of the blouse paired with the soft peacock blue of the cardigan makes my mouth water. I could eat that color combination. Add a subtle grid pattern from the pencil skirt, some chain and stone texture from the necklace, and that my friends, is an outfit I could gorge myself on.

That delicious necklace is from Target, which is where I {and most everyone else, it seems} finds the best, inexpensive little luxuries. As you've likely heard, the Jason Wu for Target collection is set to release Feb 5th, and I've already composed a little lust list...

I'm crossing my fingers that it won't be crazytown like when Missoni released their Target collection, especially since I could really use a clearance price on some of those dresses.... A girl can dream, right?

p.s. Thanks for all of your kind words on my last post. You're the best. :) I'm feeling a bit better and hope to get back to posting regularly this week.

Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better!! Sorry about Baby R needing stitches - parenting can be a real doozy, right?!

LOVE the outfit, but I want to know how you even manage to look that put together with 4 kids - the only place I'd wear an outfit like that would be, ... work - hey, that's an idea! :)

Looking beautiful!

You're looking gorgeous with your thinning waist line and your growing out hair - you always look gorgeous, I hope you know that!
Just got home from target and I can't even look at the clothes since I'm full term now AND with it with 4 inches of snow outside. All the spring colors with the bathing suits and tank tops seem out of place and completely unnecessary! I'll start looking again in 3 months ;)

Love, love this outfit. I am big on the cardigan/camisole combo. (so classic!). And shades of peacock blue are a long favorite. I had my eye on some blush sequins from JCrew over Christmas of 2010, but alas, I was on a single-mother student budget at the time. Great combo you have here.

I wanted to post a comment on the last post, but was feeling a strong case of the blues myself. I think it pops up much more easily this time of year, especially when things happen which take more emotional resources.

I always love to see the way your combine the elements of a put-together outfit. There's an art to it. And you've got the knack.

I think it will be even crazier at Target this time 'round.

You, my cousin, are gorgeous. I've been meaning to email you, I was in the hospital with ITP last week and the medications I'm on were making me severely depressed. I don't know how you deal with that so much. And my goodness, I LOVE this outfit, and that necklace! And especially you for sharing your good and bad through this blog.

Amber- I pretty much over dress for every occasion. Having 4 kids just allows me to feel grown-up enough to get away with it. The rest of the time, I live in my running clothes. I guess I'm no good at middle ground!
