Skinny Jeans

I'll admit, it has taken me a long time to warm up to the skinny jean. Blame it on years of watching What Not to Wear, but I felt that I was too short to wear them, afraid that they'd make my hips look huge and my legs too short. However, I'm a hopeless slave to fashion. I started surreptitiously eyeing them, thinking "They look so cute on the J Crew models! I could tuck them into my boots! Let's face it, I can't always wear a skirt..."

So when Liz posted the link to this great tutorial on taking your old boot cut jeans and transforming them into the skinny variety, I figured I had nothing to lose. I was already in the middle of altering all my skirts and jeans, taking them in a bit to accommodate my marathon-training bod. And you know what? I like them. They may not be skin tight, but they add a bit of edge to my wardrobe. I like that they're perfectly broken in, and best of all, they were free!

Call it recycling with style. :)

oh and that's my obnoxious way of saying you look freakin' hot!!! I like my skinny jeans but probably don't look half as hot as you. love you bunches!

You look great! There is a reason they call them skinny jeans--they only look good on skinny people. I am small--I really can't complain, but there is NO way I'd get away with those! I shudder even to imagine.

Now THOSE are some great looking skinny jeans! I still haven't come around to the style (I actually wrote a post about it a few months ago) but those are much less offensive than most of the ones I see around here to the point that I actually think they look great. :) That is such a fantastic trick!

I wish I could but I can't. But I like the reference to WNTW. I still have hopes that Stacy and Clinton will show up at my door one of these days...

I'll admit, I've been VERY leery of the skinny jean, but those look fantastic! And the tutorial is great. Even for this girl who can barely sew...I think I could do that!

P.S.
I have those heels in red and I LOVE them!

You are awesome. I have been complaining lately about being too skinny for my clothes and not having enough money to buy clothes that fit. (WHO does that anyway, right?) It never occurred to me to alter my own... DUH! Thanks, you are beautiful, and viva la skinny!

I'm trying really hard not to be jealous...really hard! Wish I had that body and sewing skills to even attempt that, although I'm still leery that those would ever, ever look good on me. You're so good at fashion and style! You look great!
