Look HERE, not THERE!

I've been reading Nina Garcia's Little Black Book of Style, and in it she says that the only way to dress for pregnancy is "lots of jewelry." Anything to take the attention off of the belly and on to your face, wrist, or décolletage. I've already become converted to this technique through my heavy use of the beautiful Stormy Seas Necklace. Normally, I'm quite minimalist when it comes to jewelry, but because of my growing waistline, my wardrobe is decidedly less creative. I'm going to recreate some of the statement pieces that have caught my eye at Anthropologie. Here are my favorites:

I love the casual stripes mixed with the luxe pearls here, but can anyone explain to me why it costs $200?! Insane. I've already got a stash of glass pearls-- add an awesome ribbon and I'll make it for less than $20.

I never seem to get sick of chiffon ruffles, but I like the idea of incorporating some costume jewelry to give it a art-deco edge. I probably won't use black, though. Too heavy for this time of year.

This one is so simple, I wonder why I didn't think of it myself. I hope I can find some similar soft mint colors-- they'll work to take some of my winter wardrobe items into spring.

Flowers! A little girly, but so easy I can't resist. I'm making this one right now.

In other news, Little Miss C is learning her times tables. She seems to take to memorization quite well, despite my fears that she might have inherited my numeric dyslexia. Ugh. Just handling the flash cards makes me shudder. I guess that's one of the very few drawbacks of homeschooling. :)

I love all of these! Goodness I have never really been a jewelry wearer but I am started to be a believer.

All of these necklaces are super fab! I am in a boring wardrobe/jewelry rut. I hope you'll post a tutorial. I could use some great Anthro jewelry at a fraction of the cost.

ps. I saw something in the Target Liberty of London line today that totally made me think of you!

Can't wait to see what you do! I also think that stylish summer hats and cute flip flops can distract from a pregnant belly.
