It never occurred to me that the reason I was so full of spunk and spirit yesterday was because I only had two kids at home and managed to squeeze in a nap. Now, after a night of waking every few hours with a sick baby, my head aches, my nose is running, and I'm back to thinking, "Just kill me now-- at least then there'd be peace and quiet!" Ambition has flown right out the window.
So, I thought I'd post a few inspirational photos for my own good. They'll remind me why I'm so drawn to grey, white and pale blue right now. Hopefully, sometime soon I'll get to sleep for more than a three hour stretch and will then get around to all that painting.
I was pretty set on Martha Stewart's Driftwood Gray for the walls {it's the third paint chip down on my photo of wall colors} but at a certain time of day it looks a shade green. Then I saw this photo and am all eager to go look at the paint they credit-- Asphalt by Benjamin Moore.
But first, some aspirin and back to bed.

Nothing like a dose of reality to bring us down from the heights of aspiration. Happens to me all the time! But these photos, they are really so lovely. Aspirations will come again for sure.
My new mantra is just do a little something every day.
Where painting is concerned, it literally took me two weeks to paint a bathroom (and I still haven't painted the door and door trim).
I too have heaps of ambition, but not enough time or energy after a day doing the usual mothering, house-keeping ordeal. It's inch by inch over here.
im so into {the perfect} grey and pale blue as well. Also into taking as much time as needed as to not trigger insanity ;)
I am sorry to hear you are sick. Those pictures look so much like you it took me a minute to realize they weren't your house. By the way when you get around to selling you maternity clothes let me know I need some and I am definitely willing to pay!
As I've grown older I have found that my life is filled with more ambition and to do lists with very little getting done. My favorite quote is, "If you want to make God laugh tell him your plan." Life just seems to always be taking over and then I must adjust. I keep thinking it's great knowing that every day when I wake up there is so much to choose from to fill my day. So little time, so much to do, just to do the best you can. With age I've learned that time spent with those I love is the best to do that I do.
Yes, as our wedding attested, white grey and light blue are my most favorite relaxing colors:). Seriously you can come decorate our house someday when we have extra money, I will even pay for your flight out:). What to do with the kids is another issue!
