Starting Line

I'm ready to start training for London's Run, the 1/2 Marathon. Since I have 9 months, I've divided my training into three parts. For the next 12 weeks, I'll be training to run a strong 5k. After that, I'll train for a 10k, and then for the final 12 weeks, a 1/2 marathon. This is my running schedule for the month, starting Monday:
  • 2 miles 5/12/08
  • 4 miles 5/13/08
  • Rest/Weights 5/14/08
  • 4 miles 5/15/08
  • Rest/Weights 5/16/08
  • 6 miles 5/17/08
  • Rest 5/18/08
  • 2 miles 5/19/08
  • 4 miles 5/20/08
  • 2 miles/Weights 5/21/08
  • 4 miles w/ pickups 5/22/08
  • Rest/Weights 5/23/08
  • 7 miles w/ hills 5/24/08
  • Rest 5/25/08
  • 2 miles 5/26/08
  • 5 miles w/ pickups 5/27/08
  • 2 miles/Weights 5/28/08
  • 5 miles w/ hills 5/29/08
  • Rest/Weights 5/30/08
  • 7 miles 5/31/08
Hopefully, this schedule doesn't make me drop dead. I've started alternating 2 and 4 mile runs this week to get started, and it's exciting. Wish me luck! Photo via.

wow!!! that's really admirable! Good luck with your training! no wonder you're always in such good shape when i see you! i've been running about 2 miles everyday...it's tough stuff, especially because running is not my first choice by a long shot, but it's the only source of exercise i can get right now...aerobics and dance are more my style.

I would love to see you dance sometime. I always remember those shots from your wedding video- you had such an Audrey Hepburn, ballerina look.
